Dia De Muertos – an event where all the best qualities of Latino culture is in full bloom – the warmth, the kindness, celebratory spirit, the vibrant colors that defined their art for thousands of years, all on full display this weekend.

But what was most inspiring is watching all walks of life, all cultures beyond Latinos, coming together to celebrate their loved ones who passed, yet another reminder that Dallas is more inclusive and more diverse than ever.

In the span of a couple of hours, we met folks from Chile, Ireland, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Brazil, France, and Honduras. It wouldn’t even be worth a mention had I still been living in NYC. But this ain’t NYC, but its increasingly becoming so, a city slowly adding more international flags to its expanding mosaic of cultures, beauty, and acceptance. Way to go, Big D!
